This responsibility assignment (“RACI”) template explains organisational roles and responsibilities for various tasks and processes necessary to achieve ongoing data protection compliance.

RACI stands for Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed. Each letter represents a different level of involvement in a particular aspect of data protection:

  1. Responsible (R): This person or role is responsible for completing the task or activity.
  2. Accountable (A): This person or role is ultimately answerable for the task’s success or failure. They often oversee the work being done and ensure that it aligns with organisational objectives.
  3. Consulted (C): These are individuals or roles that need to provide input or expertise for the task. They are consulted for their opinions, insights, or approvals during the process.
  4. Informed (I): These are individuals or roles that need to be kept up-to-date on the progress or outcomes of the task. They are informed about decisions, changes, or updates related to the task.
