Spice Route Legal debuted on Benchmark Litigation’s ranking of leading IP Disputes Practices in Asia. The publisher singled out the Google v. Milaap decision, “where the firm represented crowdfunding platform Milaap against internet giant Google. Milaap claimed that Google was using its ad words search to direct its traffic to a competitor, Impact Guru. The team sought a first-of-its-kind injunction against Impact Guru from passing off the mark ‘Milaap’ by using it in its web address and keywords. The Bangalore City Civil Court granted the injunction“.
Mathew Chacko‘s grasp of technology law came in for particular praise with the publisher observing that “He is very adept at technology law, and does meticulous research and planning. He is patient and empathetic with clients”.
“The wider recognition of our disputes and IP practices, reflects the growth of the firm – that we are no longer considered merely a tech – media – M&A – PE boutique and that we have expertise in various other areas (including IP, disputes, healthcare, life sciences, energy, employment law, financial services and data) “, says Praveen Raju, a founding partner at the firm.
