The Spice Route Legal team led by Mathew Chacko has advised wastewater treatment startup, ECOSTP Technologies Private Limited, on a Series A investment of INR 1,90,40,000 by Habitat for Humanity International Inc.
Bengaluru-based ECOSTP has used biomimicry to design their patented sewage treatment technology, inspired by the engineering and bacterial ecosystem of a cow’s stomach. Unlike traditional STP competitors, ECOSTP does not require power, chemicals, or day to day maintenance. ECOSTP plans to use this funding to reach more low income and rural households in India, with its innovative, low-cost solution for better wastewater management.
