Spice Route Legal is pleased to have advised Nira Finance, a leading Indian digital lending platform serving ‘Working India’, in its acquisition by Empower Finance Inc., a US-based fintech company focused on expanding access to credit for underserved consumers.
Empower Finance, known for its commitment to building transparent and inclusive digital financial products, has been a growing presence in the Indian fintech market. NIRA, on the other hand, has distinguished itself with its “No Tension Loans” personal loan app, serving over 10 million customers across 5,000 locations in India and facilitating seamless access to credit through trusted financial institutions.
The team was led by Partner Mathew Chacko, and included Senior Associate Harsh Kumra, and Associates Nehal Misra and Vanshika Mehra.
This transaction represents Spice Route Legal’s 5th financial services acquisition this year, reflecting our practice’s continued strength and momentum in the sector.
